ABOUT ENERGY FEDERATION, INC.
Established in 1982, Energy Federation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Massachusetts working to accelerate the adoption of energy efficient products, largely through initiatives done in conjunction with natural gas and electric throughout North America.
Payment Information
EFI accepts payment by MasterCard, VISA, Discover, American Express, or check. All transactions are in U.S. Dollars. We authorize orders before shipping. For security purposes credit card information is not maintained by EFI. Check or money order payments must be received prior to order shipment. Please include your order number on the check or money order.
General Return Policy
Please open and inspect your order within 2 days of receipt. If you need to return your order, please send an email to wholesale@efi.org or call 800-876-0660 for a Return Materials Authorization.
Energy Federation Incorporated will accept returns of product for credit under the following conditions:
- EFI must be contacted in advance to receive authorization for a return. You will be given a Return Authorization Number that must be included in the returned package(s).
- Product must be returned within 30 days of delivery date and arrive back to EFI in the original packaging and suitable for re-sale. The customer is responsible for any return freight charges.
- Any returns that are made beyond 30 days of original purchase will incur a re—stocking fee of up to 30% of the invoiced amount.
- EFI reserves the right to authorize the customer to scrap the product and provide credit or exchange at its discretion.
- No special order items can be returned – items that were ordered and purchased that EFI does not routinely stock cannot be returned.
- No foams, sealants, tapes, mastics, carbon dioxide or smoke detectors – or any items that carry an expiration date, or is by nature an item that may be damaged through extreme temperatures able to be returned.
Allow up to 2 weeks for EFI to process the return and post a credit.
Shipping
Orders are delivered by either the United States Postal Service (USPS), United Parcel Service (UPS), or Less-than-Truckload (LTL). Orders for in-stock products usually ship within two to five business days, some may take one to three weeks. Order status information may be monitored through the My Account section of the site.
Incorrectly Shipped Orders
Energy Federation Inc. will ship a new order for the correct merchandise within 3 to 5 business days. Depending on the original method of shipment we will either issue a Call Tag or send a prepaid return address label for you to return the incorrectly shipped merchandise.
Backorders
If products are on backorder, we will provide you with an estimated shipment date for the backordered products, by e-mail. If all products cannot be shipped at one time, the total shipping charge will never exceed the shipping quote. You are also able to check on an order's status through the My Account section of our site.
Order Modifications/Cancellations
Customers wishing to change or cancel orders should send an e-mail to wholesale@efi.org or call 800-876-0660.
Defective Item Returns
If the merchandise fails during the manufacturer's product warranty but after 90 days of the delivery date, Energy Federation Inc. reserves the right to refer you to the manufacturer for replacement of the failed product.
Energy Federation Inc. will accept a return for merchandise, and will process a credit equal to the purchase price to the same payment method or issue a replacement for the damage product.
Replacement orders will be shipped within 3-5 business days.
Defective Item Returns (Smart Thermostats)
If smart thermostat is deemed truly defective by the manufacturer, not incompatible, contact the thermostat manufacturer to discuss replacement. See Below.

Defective Item Returns (All Other Products)
EFI will accept returns for all other products for 1 year from delivery date (unless otherwise noted). Depending on the original method of shipment we will either issue a UPS Call Tag or send a prepaid return address label to you for return of the merchandise. A credit will be issued when the defective items are received. You are responsible for the cost of return shipping if you do not use one of these methods. If the merchandise fails during the manufacturer's product warranty, but after one year from the purchase date, Energy Federation reserves the right to refer you to the manufacturer for replacement of the failed product.
