Dehumidifiers

Dehumidifiers use a fan to draw humid air across a refrigerated dehumidifying coil, resulting in condensation collecting on the coil and subsequently draining into a collection bucket (or through a hose to a drain), with the dry air discharged into the room.

When selecting a dehumidifier, consider the level of dampness and the size of the space. For small to moderate-sized rooms with slight or moderate intermittent dampness, a dehumidifier with a lower daily capacity should be suitable. In larger rooms or areas where the space feels or smells damp consistently, a dehumidifier with a higher daily capacity will be more effective.

Dehumidifiers that have earned the ENERGY STAR® mark use efficient refrigeration coils, compressors, and fans to remove the same amount of water from the air as conventional dehumidifiers, while requiring approximately 13% less electricity. All of the dehumidifiers offered in this section are ENERGY STAR® certified.
